Attention Silvertone collectors, check this out! Available for purchase is a Vintage Silvertone Acoustic Guitar - Made in Italy. There's not much info available on these. As near as I can tell, it's from the 60's. It is in great condition and quite complete for it's age. There is the typical wear of a moderately played instrument of this era, but that just adds to her charm. Beautiful vintage burst top, back and sides with cream binding, REAL binding, not the painted on stuff. She reads "MODEL 698" in the soundhole. The neck joint, bridge, nut and tuners are all solid and have no apparent repairs. Nice, straight rosewood fretboard with plenty of life left in the frets. Body is not warped, she really is in amazing condition for her age! The action is very nice, not high like most of these old value guitars. She plays great and has a gorgeous tone. There is a moderate amount of finish checking throughout the guitar but nothing that effects the integrity of this special instrument. Also, two of the original string pegs have been replaced, the rest are there. I believe it would be nearly impossible to find another like it, so if you are looking, this is the one!
