martin 518 1/2 size guitar vintage 1978

overall length 33 inches

21.5 scale length

smallest size guitar made by martin. The guitar model has been made in one form or another since before the turn of the century. The small size was at one time popular with nashville songwriters, since they could carry it around easily or keep it in a corner of the room for use when they had an inspiration.These guitars are rare but  we do know two performers who used them on a regular basis. One was marty robbins of country music fame.

 Very Good shape but has ,one repaired 4 inch crack on the top,and one one inch crack by pickguard.

top lifts alittle under the bridge and the bridge is on slight angle(see photo)

 action is medium and becomes high but still playable at around the 9th fret

There is room to cut saddle down alittle bit &The bridge is on tight to the body
