I

again have come to a point where I need to let something go, and while
it's tough the most expensive guitar I own would be the most helpful to
sell at this point.

I acquired the guitar from a gentleman in
North Carolina who's uncle bought it new and then passed it on to him.
So in a way I am the second (or third) owner of the guitar. It sat under
a bed since 1970 or so.   

Here are the details:

 - Original pickguard was over-sized from the factory, replaced with actual period correct material over the original imprint.
- Original bridge, replaced saddle, original nut
- Original tuners and bridge pins included
- Replacement tuners are period correct replacements
- original bridge plate
- Tapered X braces (much more so than any later 50's Martin's I have seen)
- VERY light weight, not like the later 50's guitars
- Piece of wood used as support under the pickguard, a shim if you will
- No Cracks whatsoever, plugged jack hole with mahogany and color matched
- Neck reset done with hide glue by Frankie Montuoro, as well as fret level and crown and set-up, new bone saddle as well
- light over-spray just on top, rest of guitar is original finish, plugged jack hole, was 1/4" in radius
- neck is more like war period and prewar slight roundish V, reminds me a bit of OM neck shapes, not bulky V shape of the 50's
- non-original hard-case
- No heel strap pin

It
sounds great. It keeps its volume all the way up the neck and has great
punch and dynamic range.  The inside of this guitar is also VERY clean.  I'm really going to miss this one.
