For your consideration is this vintage 1950 Martin 00-17
acoustic guitar.  This extremely fine example, serial number 116484, is perfectly intact without cracks, breaks, or repairs, and is in very excellent cosmetic condition.  The Martin 00-17 features a complementary combination of an all mahogany construction with a 00-size body dimensions, somewhat similar to the design of a Guild M-20.  The 00-17 is small, yet avoids sounding bright due to the typically dark mahogany top.  Perfect for recording, the Martin 00-17 is focused yet warm, and will fit perfectly into a mix.  It would be difficult to find a better example of a late-1940's or early-1950's Martin 00-17, so whether you are a collector, player, or investor, take advantage of our No Reserve auction with Free Shipping, as the highest bidder wins regardless of price!   

As stated above, this guitar has no cracks, no breaks, nor repairs.  The bridge is solid and strongly attached, with no evidence of even the slightest lifting.  The top does not display bellying.  The body is not cracked anywhere, and while there are various small dings and scratches throughout the finish: the lacquer looks incredibly intact and still appears glossy.  The original pickguard is in excellent shape.  The neck is also in very excellent cosmetic condition, and the original frets exhibit very minimal wear.  The headstock is very clean , and the original open-back Kluson tuning machines work perfectly, and exhibit no oxidation.  As is the case with most vintage Martin guitars, this guitar needs a neck reset.  The neck joint is solid, secure, and un-touched, while the neck is very straight.  However, the neck angle is poor, and the action is high at the 12th fret measuring approximately 1/4" off of the top of the 12th fret.  The high quality Brazilian rosewood fingerboard looks beautiful, and it does not appear to exhibit any playing wear.  Although the guitar is not pictured with a case, it will be packed in a used non-original hard case for best protection.

Identical in design to a late-1940's 00-17, this guitar features: an all-mahogany outer body construction, maple bracing, mahogany
neck with a Brazilian rosewood fingerboard and pearloid dot inlays, rosewood bridge, Kluson tuning machines, and a single ply tortoise guard.   This 1950 Martin 00-17 would make a great addition to the collections of
