Serial #099807 on the back of the headstock.

Neck:  Headstock with Gilbson decal logo.  Mahogany neck . Neck 20 frets . Rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot inlays. Original frets are in great shape with practically no visible wear. Closed back 3 on a side KLUSON DELUXE tuners in excellent condition. 1  9/16" nut width. Bridge pins and bridge dots are the only non original part.

Body: Flat top spruce,mahogany back & sides. Top & back body binding . Rosewood bridge. There is some finish lifting on the side of the body.

Cosmetic Condition: Original finish on body.
 Some dings and scratches and repaired cracks.

Playability / Sound:  Neck is in excellent condition,straight. The headstock is also in excellent condition. Gorgeous tone from this guitar, it rings with a mellowed age.
Has the kind of low action and ringing sound a real player will enjoy.

Case: Vintage 60's chipboard case included in excellent condition.

HISTORY

This guitar was owned by an old friend. He purchased it in the early 1970's . He did not play it very much as he was just a beginner and had no time for it. After he passed away it was in his families attic where it was neglected for several decades. When I found it , there were several cracks in the top. The most prominent being the two  cracks going from the bridge pins to the bottom of the guitar. The bridge also had a split. I found the best Gibson Luthier in the NYC area and had the guitar totally repaired. I have the receipt from the re[airs and can provide more details. I have loved playing it and the warm incredible sound it projects.however it has a narrow neck. My  BASS PLAYER fingers don't make it on there.This explains the beautiful almost unplayed condition of the neck and frets. For the right player this guitar is like the holy grail of vintage acoustics.
