Vintage Acoustic Guitar

I know very little about guitars but this showed at a recent estate sale and the brand name "Gibson" made me interested in purchasing it. It's a 6 string Gibson acoustic guitar measuring 40" in Length, 15" at widest and 4" in depth.  It has a serial number across the inside top that reads: "272579". I believe that indicates that it was manufactured in the mid 1960s? It comes in what appears to be its original case with a metal "Gibson" attached to the small inside box. It's in really nice condition for its age with only a few superficial scratches or scuff marks which can probably easily be buffed out if desired (I'll leave that up to the winning bidder as this guitar has not been touched up or cleaned in any way and is presented to you as it was found). There are no cracks or broken strings.  I must also mention that on one side of the wood's edge are these 7 small white circular dots (see photo) and I don't not know their function? Perhaps someone familiar with Gibson guitars will e-mail me with info pertaining to these small white dots and I will gladly add it to my description. In fact, if you have any questions at all or can inform me as to the model of this guitar it would be appreciated.
