Vintage Acoustic Guitar

 The J-45 has been Gibson’s top-selling acoustic guitar for years.
Nicknamed “The Workhorse” and first introduced in 1942, Gibson’s most
popular acoustic is now the icon of its round-shoulder, dreadnought
line, world renowned for its full, balanced expression, warm bass, and
excellent projection. Subtle changes to the bracing of its
predecessor—the J-35—made Gibson’s J-45 one of most technically advanced
guitars of its time.

I am the second owner of this guitar. I purchased it as a 1971 J-45. I have no way of verifying the year but the owner seemed to know what he was talking about and the guitar seems to be consistent with other guitars from that period. It's in good shape and plays like butter. There is one small ding on the face and the pick guard is lifting just a wee bit at the corner. I've included a picture to show this. It's actually much tighter to the guitar than it appears in the picture and not something you would notice while playing it.. If you decided to have it fixed it could probably be done fairly easily. Everything else is in great shape - see pictures. Sound is amazing - large, deep and warm - not tinny, buzzy or bright.

If you've got the cash I would purchase this guitar. I hate to sell it but I don't play it nearly often enough to justify the amount of money I spent on it.

I have had 2 questions about "screws" or "bolts" on the bridge. There are two small pieces of metal which appear to be screws. They look like they may adjust the height of the saddle. I just did a search on other J-45s. Here's some pics from a webpage selling some older J-45s. They both have something on the saddle as well.

I asked about the guitar when I bought it and was told it's all original. I'm not a guitar nerd...not that that's a bad thing. I'm just not that knowledgeable about guitars. I wanted something vintage that played like butter and this fit the bill. Was a bit of an impulse buy but it's an amazing guitar.
