Vintage Gibson J-160E Acoustic Electric Guitar!
Rock out Beatles-style with this sweet vintage 1967 Gibson J-160E acoustic electric guitar!
Though it has seen much action and survived some serious injuries, this beauty still remains in very good playing condition with electronics (uncovered single-coil pickup, pots dating to 1966) that appear all original and repair free. The frets are in nice shape and look like they have had a professional re-crown job.
Despite the normal scattering of dings, scratches, and other cosmetic wear you would expect a player's guitar of this age, it also has a few notable structural issues:
At some point in its history, the headstock snapped off and has been repaired. If you look closely at the 8th photo from the top on the right side, due to the photo lighting you can see a slightly different tint to some of the lacquer where the repair took place. The luthier did an excellent job on the repair, and it is not so noticeable under normal lighting. The rest of the back of the headstock has been sanded and refinished as part of the repair. The original tuning machine holes were also filled in at that time, and the serial number is now barely visible beneath the new finish. The original tuning machines have been replaced with Schallers.
The bottom left edge of the bridge is lifting slightly and it appears as though a former owner may have tried to fix the issue by just squirting some glue under it, instead of properly repairing it by removing and regluing the entire bridge.
Rundown of major cosmetic flaws by location:- dings on tip of headstock- 1/2" long nick on top surface of headstock through the letter "s" in Gibson- patches of lost finish on back of body- dings on back of heel and body- dings on body top- scratches on body sides- moderate lacquer checking- large scratch marks to left of the soundhole
Most flaws are depicted in the photos, though eBay only lets us post 12 of them, so a couple of shots did not make the auction. I will gladly send you photo files if you send your email address. Best efforts have been made to accurately describe the item. PLEASE ask all questions before bidding.

STAR RATINGS:
Please be fair and considerate on the "Detailed Seller Ratings" when leaving feedback! Most people do not realize that eBay charges sellers greater fees if they do not maintain a perfect 5 star rating in all categories! We do our best to examine and report on all flaws and issues during the listings. Keep in mind that we are rated on the same terms as sellers who only sell new-in-box products - it is much more difficult and time-consuming for a seller of UNIQUE musical instruments and gear to thoroughly describe and safely ship each item than it is for someone selling a new MP3 player in the box. We want you to have the most positive experience possible. Please let us know right away if you have any issues or concerns. We are here to help!
