Gibson Acoustic / Electric J-45 Modern Classic (Vintage
Sunburst) – Rarely played with Hard Case
Item ID: RS45VSNH1
Model Number J-45
Serial # 00747033
No TAX – I am not a company, but I am human.
I bought this guitar in 2007 and used it for a 2-day recording
session. It has sat in its case in a humidity-controlled closet since then. It
is in perfect shape, showroom quality, no nicks whatsoever. It doesn’t matter
if you use a mic to record or need to plug it in for amplification – I would
put this guitar against my Martin D-45 or Taylor 618ce for a fuller, richer
sound any day. I have moved and need to clean out my guitar stock.

The J-45
Modern Classic has the distinctive Gibson "Round Shoulder" body style
that makes it comfortable to play while maintaining plenty of interior volume.
Playability is also enhanced by the 24-3/4" scale. The J-45's solid
premium Sitka spruce top caps off a solid mahogany back and sides. The mahogany
neck has a "V" profile and is topped with an Indian rosewood
fingerboard with mother-of-pearl dot inlays. The Gibson-favorite "belly up"
bridge features white pins and mother-of-pearl dots. A Fishman Active
Transducer pickup system provides clean, full-bodied reproduction of the J-45's
natural tone. Grover nickel tuners and a tortoise teardrop pickguard complete
this fine instrument. The J-45 has been a best seller since the 1940s, when
artists universally gave it the nickname "The Workhorse."
Modern
Classic, improved
Delivering quality craftsmanship and classic
style, Gibson guitars will always be of the best in the world. Yet, the same
technological developments that constantly change and revolutionize the audio
industry are also impacting the needs and wishes of modern musicians: Gibson
knows this. With the release of the Modern Classic line, Gibson gives a nod to
the modern guitarist - the guitarist who needs onboard electronics, comfortable
neck profiles, and setups that allow playability - no matter the style of
playing. With these features in mind, Gibson redesigned the entire Modern
Classics line to give us premium, handcrafted guitars that play easier,
intonate better, sound great plugged in, and stay in tune even better than
before. These guitars feature the latest design advancements, including
radiused, or rolled fingerboard edges, that give you a fast, comfortable feel.
And, with string height lower at the nut, these guitars will also play even
easier and intonate better all the way up the neck. Final Gibson touches,
including new soundhole labels, sturdy Grover tuners, and premium Fishman
pickups, make it easy for you to take your favorite Gibson acoustic to the
modern stage with confidence!
Quality construction
All Modern Classic guitars are handcrafted by
Gibson in Bozeman, MT, from premium tonewoods and components. The J-45 features
a premium-quality solid Sitka spruce top, asolid Honduras mohogany back and
sides, and mahogany neck with a comfy round profile. In addition to
improvements in playability, electronics, and hardware (which apply to all new
Modern Classic guitars), this J-45 features the classic Vintage Sunburst look,
with a Madagascar rosewood fingerboard, and Gibson-favorite "belly
up" bridge.
Round Shoulder style
Descending from Gibson's large HG Hawaiian
guitar in 1929, and the original "Jumbo," introduced in 1934, Round
Shoulder Dreadnoughts are steeped in Gibson tradition and lauded for their
pure, rich tones, and impressive volume. With smooth lines, and a curvaceous
shape, Round Shoulder style guitars invite a close relationship with their
respective guitarists: their body shape makes these guitars easier to hold and
more comfortable to wrap your arms around.

“I really love this guitar!!! I've
played and owned Taylors and a Martin and this one really sings. It has a
superb acoustic tone whether fingerpicked or strummed and the body just hums in
your arms when you dig into it.
It has a very natural amplified sound
when plugged into a clean amp setting and you can dirty it up if you want to add
some distortion.
The finish and detail work on the the
neck joint is excellent and the finish on body and neck is great.
This is a blast to
play acoustic Neil Young or Gary Davis; Blues or singer-songwriters... it's
great!!!”

“My J-45 is the only guitar i will ever
wan't or have for the rest of my life. It looks, sounds, and feels beautiful.
Nothing can compare. Its sound is full and heavy and it looks stunning. You
won't regret for a second buying this guitar, it will become part of you.
Everything else will seem obsolete.
Don't buy anything else, save up and
get it... i am glad i did.”
