1964 Gibson J-45 Acoustic Guitar!
Near Pristine 100% Original Condition!
Free U.S.A. Shipping!

For your consideration is this 1964 Gibson J-45 acoustic guitar. Purchased in May 2010 form the original owner, this beautiful example is 100% all original with absolutely zero issues. With the exception of very minimal superficial playing wear, this particular guitar (serial number 187112) is in extremely excellent cosmetic condition. While not quite mint, it is the next best caliber. In addition to looking like a (46-year old) near new guitar, this guitar plays and sounds fantastic. Much nicer in every respect than any currently available on eBay or Gbase, we reasonably priced ours to sell quickly, so take advantage of this great Buy It Now deal, as it wont last long! Please view the photos in our flash gallery to the right, but be sure to see all 60+ images on our website!
C-L-I-C-K  H-E-R-E  T-O  V-I-E-W!

As stated, this guitar is 100% ALL original with absolutely no issues. This no excuses example is perfect for both collectors and players, as it looks, plays, and sounds better than any we’ve had in the last 5 years. There are no cracks, no breaks, no repairs, and no modifications whatsoever, and it comes with the original case.
The original cherry sunburst finish is bright, vibrant, and attractive, as is the original cherry back, sides, and neck. There is very very light weather-checking on several small areas on the top (basically invisible to the eye in normal light,) with no other signs of such anywhere else on the guitar. There are two relatively sizeable superficial imprint scratches on the top, along with some playing wear around the edge of the sound hole. The bridge is perfectly intact and solid, with the top displaying absolutely zero evidence of bellying or fatigue. The original injection-molded plastic pickguard is also in perfect structural condition with no cracks and no signs of pulling from the top. The neck heel is also solid and clean. The neck angle is great, which enables low effortless action all the way up and back down the fingerboard. The headstock is in great condition, as are the original frets.

This particular example is also a great functional instrument, and better than those several years earlier and than those which came later. The early 60’s J-series acoustics featured plastic bridges, which are less desirable due to their lack of traditional acoustical properties. Additionally, plastic bridges often lifted from the top, creating an even more problematic structural issue. Later versions (from 1965-1969) feature a smaller nut width, which ironically make the guitar more difficult to play. So this great guitar appears at the crossroads of the transitional 1960’s models, where the bridge is made of Brazilian rosewood and the nut width is the traditional 1 11/16” width. It does also feature the more bulky injection-molded pickguard and a ceramic adjustable bridge, however, neither of which distract nearly as much as the aforementioned transitional features.

The guitar plays great, and the recent installation of Thomastik strings enhanced the already beautiful tonality quite a bit. The guitar is clean and evenly balanced, with good volume. It is easy to play, and the medium-sized soft C-shape neck profile feels absolutely perfect, not unlike that of an SG or ES-335 from the same year.

The guitar comes with the original faultless plushline case, and an original era appropriate strap. Also, check out our website for 50+ more photographs of this guitar! Click Here to view!
